Sustainable Tourism East
Introduction

In this section, you can find out how your rural business can benefit from Sustainable Tourism East.

Through Sustainable Tourism East rural businesses in the East of England can access
practical support including training courses, green business advisory visits and marketing opportunities to help them develop a more sustainable approach. These opportunities are available free of charge or at special rates.

The vision is to make the East of England the region of choice for the responsible visitor. This will be achieved by the cumulative effect of the project:

  • Changing business attitudes to the sustainable tourism agenda.
  • Improving the experience of visitors.
  • Increasing spending in rural areas and the consumption of local produce.
Sustainable Tourism East is a three-year project supported under the Rural Development Programme for England by the East of England Development Agency, Defra and the EU, and delivered by East of England Tourism. The project will run until March 2013.
